In 2019, during a rally in Texas, he actually discussed the prospect of having a dog himself.

Unconfirmed reports further asserted that Donald reasoned having a pet was something only low-life people do.
Certain sources believe that the former president dislikes dogs due to his well-publicized germophobia.
However, considering his many dog-related similies, what Donald thinks of them is quite clear.

Perhaps Donald should have adopted Patton after all.
