At the age of just four, she was diagnosed with kidney cancer, more specifically end-stage nephroblastoma.
“But without it, I had maybe two weeks left.”
“There were so many of us that didn’t make it,” she toldThe Boot.
“Somebody died literally every day.”
In 2015, Timothy James Bowen was given two weeks to live due to Stage 4 lymphoma.
Clare also put her wedding to Brandon Robert Young on hold.
“Everything stopped and we went to Australia to help him.”
Bowen still performs the song “Love Steps In,” but does so with a lighter heart.
“Now, I get to sing it smiling,” she proudly informedThe Daily Telegraph Australia’s Stellar.
“It’s a joy that I have to share.”
