Jon claims their mom, Kate Gosselin, has encouraged the estrangement.

Kate hasn’t commented publicly her ex’s love life, and Jon is fine with that.
“Kate doesn’t care what I do,” he said in anotherEntertainment Tonightinterview.
“Kate does what Kate does.
Kate only cares about Kate.”
